Community Preparedness for Wildfire Post

The AZWI will develop collaborative programs to help communities better prepare for wildfire from homeowners to city and county leaders. We will expand the development of an AZ Fire Adapted Community Network (AZ FAC) and foster the development of community liaisons and outreach programs and products that are intended to create resilient communities and engage those communities in wildfire management. These efforts will be collaborative, engaging local, state and federal agencies, tribes, the private sector, and NGOs to leverage different audiences and platforms for communication.

Phase Two

The AZ WI will host a series of workshops to bring Arizonan communities together to go through the wheel process created by Fire Adapted Community Network (FAC NET). There will be a short presentation followed by a discussion on what types of plans fit best with what each community needs.
