Job Title: Curriculum Developer – Forestry and Wildfire Education

Job Summary: As a Curriculum Developer specializing in forestry and wildfire education at the post-secondary level, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing cutting-edge educational materials and programs related to forestry and wildfires. You will work closely with subject matter experts, educators, and instructional designers to create engaging, comprehensive, and up-to-date curriculum content that aligns with industry standards and educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Design: Develop and update curriculum materials for forestry and wildfire related courses, including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and multimedia resources.
- Content Research: Stay current with the latest developments in forestry and wildfire education to ensure curriculum content is accurate and relevant.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and instructional designers to gather input, review existing content, and incorporate feedback into curriculum development.
- Instructional Strategies: Utilize effective teaching and learning strategies to create engaging, interactive, and learner-centered curriculum materials.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Develop assessment tools and methods to measure student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Alignment with Standards: Ensure that curriculum content aligns with industry standards, certifications, and accreditation requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Review and revise curriculum materials regularly to maintain their quality and relevance.
- Technology Integration: Explore and integrate innovative educational technologies and digital tools to enhance the learning experience.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to educators and instructors to effectively deliver the curriculum.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of curriculum materials and make improvements based on feedback and assessment results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in forestry, wildfire, education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, preferably in forestry and/or wildfire education.
- In-depth knowledge of forestry concepts, wildfire education, and related topics.
- Strong research skills to stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Creative thinking and a passion for education and environmental conservation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in forestry or related field.
- Experience in online or remote education.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
